Pike Place Market in Seattle

By 3:51 PM

Seattle has always intrigued me. Something about constant rain and cool weather is very appealing to this desert creature. Day 1 in Seattle was quite disappointing as it was sunny and warm - completely unusual for those that call it home. Luckily for my sight seeing day, I got what I asked for - cloudy, rainy and cold. "Be careful what you wish for" is the first thing that comes to mind.

First stop was the Space Needle, which sums up the weather pretty nicely. To answer your question - yes I went outside and checked out the view!

Something cool on my list was to check out the very first Starbucks store. Being it was freezing out, I was dying for a hot caramel macchiato, but the line was so insane there was no way it was going to happen. At least I can say I saw the store though.
I am a huge fan of seafood. In fact, for my tenth birthday I asked my mom for crab legs for dinner rather than McDonalds. Pike Place Market overall was insanely cool - I loved the fresh flowers and various foods. It is true when they say you eat your way through the market. Pike Place Fish Co. is a famous stop in this market though. The energy of the workers is contagious and they truly enjoy what they do.

On my culinary bucket list in Seattle was to try an oyster on a half shell. After trying one at Pike Fish Co I had to have more - luckily there was no shortage!
